Teva Mountain Games

Early June

The Teva Mountain Games are the country's largest celebration of adventure sports, art and music. Professional and amateur athletes from around the world converge upon the mountains and rivers of Vail to compete in eight sports and 24 disciplines for more than $100,000 in prize money.

Events include steep, freestyle, sprint and full contact kayaking, rafting, mountain, road, freeride and slopestyle biking, World Cup Bouldering, amateur climbing, fly fishing, sprint and cross stand up paddling and trail, mud and long distance running.

And to round it all out, Thursday and Saturday night free concerts, and plenty of after-partying make the Teva Mountain Games the perfect Vail summer kick-off.

Beaver Creek Culinary Demo Series

June-September

Don’t miss this culinary favorite as Chefs from local restaurants give free culinary demonstrations at the Bon Appétit tent in Beaver Creek Plaza Saturday afternoons at 5pm. Multiple demonstrations will take place each day on festival weekends. Make sure to check the schedule below so you don't miss out on the action.

Hot Summer Nights Concert Series

June-August

This annual free summer concert series is hosted at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater Tuesday evenings throughout the summer months.

With shows ranging from rock to country to bluegrass to funk and beyond, the Bud Light Hot Summer Nights has become synonymous with summer for locals and visitors alike.

Throngs of music lovers gather at the Amphitheater each week to enjoy sunshine, picnics, friends and incredible free music. All shows start at 6:30pm.

Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival

June - August

A six week long festival that boasts not one but three world-class resident orchestras: the New York Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

Programming highlights include programmatic orchestral works, chamber music, jazz, and pops.

As in previous seasons, chamber concerts will be held in the intimate Vail Mountain School and Vilar Performing Arts Center, while large-scale concerts take place in Vail’s spectacular Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, which accommodates 1,260 guests in covered seating and an additional 1,500 on the expansive grassy hillside, with its breathtaking view of the Rocky Mountains. Kyle MacMillan of the Denver Post observes: “The Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival gives classical-music fans something that no summer series anywhere else can match—the chance to hear multiple concerts by three top-drawer orchestras.”

Free lawn seating for children 12 and under at all Bravo orchestral concerts at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater.

Vail Jazz Festival

June - September

This summer long festival consists of three distinct performance series. Kicking off in June, and continuing every Sunday from noon to 3:00pm every week enjoy free live music from local jazz musicians at the Vail Farmers’ Market. The live performances are not just limited to Sundays, as Jazz @ Vail Square starts in early July with free concerts every Thursday from 6pm – 8pm. The Festival culminates in September over Labor Day weekend in a unique mix of world-class musicians in a one-of-a-kind format that has lived up to its title, the Labor Day Weekend Party.

 

Vail Farmers' Market & Art Show

June - September

Sundays from 10:00am - 3:00pm Get a taste of Colorado with the Vail Farmers' Market and Art Show, open weekly throughout the summer. Colorado's finest is waiting here for you, including locally grown produce, international dishes, fresh baked goods and even Colorado wine, all ready for you to enjoy during your summer in Vail. Once you have sated your hunger, enjoy even more local creativity at the Art Show. You can find everything from beautiful clothing and jewelry to handmade home items.

Vail International Dance Festival

July - August

A two-week celebration of dance featuring a collection of the world’s greatest performing artists and most visionary choreographers. Performances will take place outdoors at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater and at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek while community events will be held in streets and villages throughout the Vail Valley. Presented by the Vail Valley Foundation.


Vail Arts Festival

July

Each summer over 70 artists from around the country converge in LionsHead for this colorful visual arts festival. With countless mediums represented, it’s a unique and free opportunity to meet each exhibiting artist in person. Also, enjoy street entertainers, live performances and great food throughout the day.

USA Pro Cycling Challenge

July

The mountain changes everything. Breathtaking altitudes, treacherous climbs and 128 of the worlds best riders. It’s the most challenging race held on American soil.

The USA Pro Cycling Challenge is the most demanding bike race ever held on American soil, with racers experiencing breathless altitudes, day after day. The race is on the level of the Tour de France, bringing the high speeds, danger and adrenaline of professional biking to elevations over 2 miles high in some of the most picturesque terrain in the world—the Colorado Rocky Mountains.


Beaver Creek Art Festival

Early August

View and purchase artwork, try samples at a variety of food booths and culinary demonstrations in the Bon Appétit and enjoy all of the fun weekend activities offfered. Admission is free. Guests should park in the Bear Lot located along Highway 6 and ride the free shuttle up to Beaver Creek Village. Artist booths open Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm, Food booths open Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm.  Free Culinary Demonstrations Saturday and Sunday at 12:00pm, 1:30pm and 3:00pm.  If you are interested in participating in the Arts Festival, email info@artfestival.com.
